How to reach Agra:-

By Airways:-

Agra is connected by Indian Airlines and other operators services. It just take about 40 minutes to reach Agra from Delhi. Fares from some adjoining destinations are as :

Delhi : US$ 50
Khajuraho : US$ 70
Varanasi : US$ 95
Kheria is the nearest airport is about 7 km from the centre of the town.

By Railways:-

Quite a number of trains running between Delhi and Varanasi passes via Agra. However, it is advisable to reserve as far in advance as possible. Two major trains, stopping at Agra Cantonment Station (which is on the main Delhi - Mumbai live) are:

- Shatabdi Express, Aircon Chaircar : Rs 275 (approx) - Travel time 2 hrs

- Taj Express from Nizamuddin Station Delhi, Ist Class: RS 275 - Travel time 2 1/2 hrs

A few direct trains to/from Mughalsarai (near Varanasi) are also there. The fares are as RS 180 in sleeper class; RS 625 in Ist Class. The travel time is around 13 hrs.

For those who are taking trains between Delhi and Kolkatta (Calcutta), the option is to get down at Tundla or Firozabad Stations, where most expresses stop. From there one can catch a bus for Agra. The travel time is as :

From Agra : about 90 minutes
From Firozabad : about 60 minutes
Trains are also there for Mumbai, Goa, Chennai and Trivandrum as well as many northward destinations (towards the Himalayan).

Quite a few locations of Rajasthan are connected to Agra by trains like Marudhar Express (Agra - Jodhpur, via Jaipur)

By Roadways:-

There are three bus stands at Agra.

From Idgah Bus stand, buses are available for destination like (travel time and fares are in approx):

Delhi : 5 hrs - Rs 75
Fatehpur Sikri : 90 minutes - Rs 15
Mathura : 90 minutes - Rs 25
Khajuraho : 10 hrs - Rs 130
Another bus stand is that of Agra Fort, where from slower buses for Mathura are available (travel time - 2 hrs; fare - RS 20 approx).

Buses for locations in Rajasthan depart from, a small bus stand outside hotel Sheetal. This place is quite close to the Idgah Bus Stand. It takes about 6 hrs to cover the Agra Jaipur distance; the fare is around RS 115 in delux.
